I registered for the Get Interactive: Practical Teaching with Technology, it sounded interesting-but so did the rest of these courses!

I've taken Coursera's Copyright for Educators and Librarians

course offered by Duke, Emory and UNC-CH, it was excellent.

Instructional Design: Make the Switch to Interactive e-Learning | eLearningFeeds.com

Instructional Design: Make the Switch to Interactive e-Learning | eLearningFeeds.com | Information and digital literacy in education via the digital path | Scoop.it

by Ethan Edwards, chief instructional strategist | @ethanaedwards

I’ve taught the ASTD e-Learning Instructional Design Certificate Program for a number of years now. One of the greatest takeaways for the participants, I have found, is how empowering it can be to realize the significant impact each of us can have as designers when we take on the central instructional design challenge: creating an environment and an experience in which the learner will gain some knowledge or skill more effectively and efficiently than he or she could without the instruction.  That’s my common-sense definition of what instructional design is.

Webquests - An Introductory Guide and Resources | informED

For those unfamiliar with the term, WebQuests can sound a whole lot like regular old internet research that everybody does these days. Even the definition—“an inquiry-oriented lesson format in which most or all of the information that learners work with comes from the web”—doesn’t do much to dispel that notion. There are, however, distinct differences that help to set WebQuests apart.

Interaction Equivalency in an OER, MOOCS and Informal Learning Era | Miyazoe | Journal of Interactive Media in Education

This theoretical paper attempts to clarify design issues that the field of education has encountered in the context of OER (Open Educational Resources), Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) and increased emphasis on informal learning, as examined through the lens of the Interaction Equivalency Theorem. An overview of the core concepts of the Interaction Equivalency Theorem (the EQuiv) is provided and an explanation of how the EQuiv framework can be used to analyze interaction designs for online and distance education. The paper applies EQuiv ideas to categorize three variants of MOOCs (xMOOCs, sMOOCs and cMOOCs), from the perspective of interaction design so as to elucidate the major design differences. In conclusion, this paper explores the changing role of formal education in an era of learning opportunity where online educational resources and opportunities are readily accessible and in many cases completely free of cost to the learner.
