Want to land more job offers? Check out this interview follow up checklist for everything you need to do after you meet with your potential employer.
Trish Sadar's insight:

If you already have read my interview book, and have followed the interview check list this article gives a few new tips I haven't heard before.

1.  In your follow up letter include a p.s.

Ex:  P.S.: Did I mention I am a team player?”

2. Including in your thank you letter a few testimonials on your work

I really like the p.s. recommendation.  It adds a bit of personality and humor.  The testimonials if targeted towards something that the recruiter has mentioned during the interview may be effective.

What are your suggestions or thoughts?

Trish Sadar's insight:

Love this article!

I can't tell you how often a candidate aced their interview with the recruiter; however was not passed on because of their behavior and actions towards other employees.

I have had security officers, parking attendants, receptionists, and cleaners come in and comment about nice candidates as well as not so nice candidates.

My simple tips:

1.  Arrive early to the interivew

2.  Drive carefully in the parking area

3.  Park in the specifed area

4.  Be nice to everyone

I have seen great candidates who perhaps because they were late parking in the wrong place, and then arguing with parking personnel.  Avoid the additional stress and remember the interview starts the moment you step onto company premises.  Look the part, be professional, and be your best you!

How To Talk About Your Biggest Weakness In A Job Interview - Forbes

How To Talk About Your Biggest Weakness In A Job Interview - Forbes | Interview Advice & Tips | Scoop.it
There's a good chance the hiring manager in your next job interview will ask that dreaded question: What’s your biggest weakness? Here are some tips for handling it.
Trish Sadar's insight:

Excellent advice and tips!

It is true that most people know about the "What is your weakness" interview question; however, it does seem funny that some people stumble and lose their ground when answering the question.

As the article says: "It’s not a trick question and there’s no “right” answer—but interviewers are looking for something specific in your response to this challenging query."

What is the purpose of the question?  Yes, it could be to check for resiliency; however, for me the goal is to do a temperature check on the candidate to see if they would be honest in sharing what they learned, and better yet what they are doing to develop their opportunity area.

For example an example response could be...."An area of opportunity that I identified this year is to strenghten my advanced knowledge of ____ software.  What I am doing to strenghten this area is

a,

b,

c, etc.

This shows that you have a development plan and are building those muscles!
