The aim of the STEM Directories is to connect teachers with the wide range of activities in the UK that can help enhance their teaching in science, engineering and maths. Who runs the STEM directories? The project is maintained and managed by a consortium comprising of the following organisations and is supported by the Department for Education (DfE).

“Project-based learning is a powerful approach to teaching. This approach allows students to learn content in a manner similar to how they will work during the rest of their lives. PBL provides teachers with easy avenues to engage students with real world problems that are relevant to the learning community. It is possible to teach multiple subjects simultaneously and make connections outside the classroom.

I am pleased to see the idea that the focus for PBL should be the skills - it is so important to give students opportunity to receive feedback on skills like problem solving, crticial thinking, and creativity.
