Flippin' Learning--Not Classrooms

Flippin' Learning--Not Classrooms | Education 2.0 & 3.0 | Scoop.it
As I speak at educator conventions across the country, I have found the chorus of voices around the “flipped classroom” to be reaching a crescendo.  Indeed, it seems that to have a proposal accepted for presentation, the educator is advised to include some derivative of the word “flip” in the session title (Hint: Using “flippin” without the “g” is apparently more cool and increases the likelihood of your proposal acceptance by 50%--note example above).

Starting to integrate technology can be intimidating.

So many choices, new ideas being shared all of the time through social media, blogs, books, Teacher Professional Development, and more.

I find the best time to walk away with new ideas is right after a big event dedicated to edtech. With conference season upon us, maybe you recently attended a conference or edcamp or read something and now have a long list of new ideas which can be overwhelming.

Is flipped learning really all the rage? - Nicole Brown

Is flipped learning really all the rage? - Nicole Brown | Education 2.0 & 3.0 | Scoop.it
Having worked and volunteered in education in primary and secondary schools, as well as higher education for a quite a while now I have seen a range of developments and changes. When I started out we were still using blackboards with chalk and were most excited about being able to use a TV with video recorded or an overhead projector, which most of today’s youngsters haven’t ever seen and cannot fathom. With the introduction of data projectors, interactive whiteboards, iPads and so on, lesson delivery has also changed over the years.

Flipped Learning Can Be a Key to Transforming Teaching and Learning Post-Pandemic

Flipped Learning Can Be a Key to Transforming Teaching and Learning Post-Pandemic | Education 2.0 & 3.0 | Scoop.it

"When we look at all the assumptions that have been overturned in higher education because of the pandemic and all the needs that have only grown during this time, what becomes clear is that frameworks that previously worked for higher education are no longer guaranteed to function. Something new is needed, and flipped learning may be exactly the right model for where higher education is headed once the pandemic is over."

Oskar Almazan's curator insight, November 9, 2016 12:28 AM
