Over the past year, plenty of charts, projections and infographics all show video content heading in the general direction of growth as more users engage video content online than ever before.

Personally I have not found the "sweet spot" when it comes to annotations. If you put them at the beginning, that reduces watch time. If you put them at the end - most people won't see them. Basically there is no exact science to it, just keep testing.

I have one question about the slide. I see that Annotations are included on the list. Any insights on what is meant by "annotations" in terms of SEO? I'm not sure how using annotations on videos can help so I must be missing something there.

My comment: Hey Tim, question - I don't have the option to move the placement on my InVideo Programming - do you still have it? I think they changed it with the last update to InVideo Programming about a month ago. Tim Smoyer's response: Oh yeah, you're right! I forgot about that. Thanks for that correction! My response: You're welcome. I was wondering why you haven't mentioned it in any of your videos. They made the change about a week after I did a video AND a blog post showing the old options....(I hate when that happens)....lol

My Comment:
This is the best and most informative video I've seen coming directly from YouTube. Please do more of these! I'd like to know more about choosing the right category for my videos and how much of a role does the category play in YouTube search.
For example I do mostly blogging and social media tutorials. Should I use "Education" "Science & Technology" or "HowTo & Style" I don't think any of those categories is appropriate but I'm not sure how to test for the best results in search.
